A Prayer for the Workplace–Genesis 30-31

Today’s Scripture Reading:  Genesis 30:25-31.55

Lord, help us to have the work ethic and dedication to our employers like Jacob:

Soon after Rachel had given birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Please release me so I can go home to my own country. Let me take my wives and children, for I have earned them by serving you, and let me be on my way. You certainly know how hard I have worked for you.”

“Please listen to me,” Laban replied. “I have become wealthy, for the Lord has blessed me because of you.  —Genesis 30:25-27

Heavenly Father, bless me today with the blessings of Jacob.  As I go into my workplace give me the wisdom and creativity to be an asset to my employer.  Remind me to be loyal and faithful to my company, corporation, or organization.  Lord,  help me perform my job with excellence for Your honor.

Jesus, reward me for my hard work and faithfulness.  May my boss see my contribution to their team as an asset, may they feel blessed to have me in their employment. Give me favor with them.

Father, bless my employer!  Give them a year of increase.

Lord, protect me from harm in the workplace.  Guard me from the rage that is rampant in the world today.  Help me not to fear what people can to do me.  Help me not to forget that You gave me this job and no one can take it away from me, unless You give them permission.

Holy Spirit, speak loudly if You have plans for a job or career change this year.  Lead and direct me if there are preparations needed for this change.  Give me the peace and confidence to know You are in complete control and that You will get Your will accomplished in my life.

Jesus, let my attitude, integrity and performance in the workplace be a witness of Your love and faithfulness.  Use me to help others know You more.

In Jesus’ Name.  Amen and Amen!
