Today’s Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 4:1-34; Psalm 72; Psalm 127
Today’s Devotion: Are You Too Tired to Read This?
Heavenly Father, in a day where we are programmed to be discontent at every turn, contentment seems like a mirage that we can never obtain. In Solomon’s day the people of Judah and Israel were very contented with plenty to eat and drink (1 Kings 4:20).
Lord, I know there are many people in our country and the world who don’t have enough to eat, but there are billions who have plenty. Why aren’t we content?
Why do we continually need bigger, better, and more?
Lord, I believe true contentment is an attitude not a destination. Help us to remove the scales from our eyes that cause us to see the glass have-empty. Help us to see how abundantly we are blessed.
Lord, help us to be content.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen and Amen!
