Lord, Help Me to be Willing–1 Chronicles 29:6

Today’s Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 29:1-22; 1 Kings 1:1-53

Today’s Devotion: Why Are You Doing That?

Heavenly Father, sometimes I have an attitude problem.  Sometimes I’m just not willing to give of my time, talent, or treasure.  Sometimes I just want it to be about me.

As David said so well, everything we are and everything we have is because of You…

“O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!  But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!  We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.  –1 Chronicles 29:13-15

Lord, I join with David in praying, “…make Your people (me) always want to obey You.”  –1 Chronicles 29:18

Father, I bring everything You’ve given me to You.  Take it, use it for Your Glory.  Lord, help me to be willing.

In Jesus’ Name.  Amen and Amen!
