Lord, I Want the Skill to Recognized the Difference Between Right and Wrong—Hebrews 5:11-14

Today’s Scripture Reading: Hebrews 4:14-7:28

Heavenly Father, we don’t know who wrote Hebrews but it sure sounds as if he was tired of dealing with Christians who acted like babies. He had a deep desire was to see these believers have a personal passion to know You through Your Word.

There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong. —Hebrews 5:11-14

Lord, I saw a statistic that said 80% of church goers don’t read the Bible daily.  Very few Christians attend Bible studies. Most churches don’t have Sunday School anymore. This really scares me. Where’s the training these verses speak about? If we compared the first-century believers study time to today’s average believer we would be shocked.

Lord, how are we going to make it?

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. —1 Timothy 4:1

Jesus, knowledge of You and Your Word doesn’t come from church attendance, it comes through training–individually and through the local church. Unfortunately, these verses are today’s reality. Everyday, countless Christians are making choices that go directly against Your Word.

Holy Spirit, as we transition to a new year, I pray You will draw us to Your Word. Give us a supernatural hunger to know You through Your Word.

In Jesus Name. Amen and Amen!
